Shsttadhar in Seraj Constituency of Mandi district will be developed as a destination for ecotourism in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur has announced a package of 1 crore rupees for this project. Jai Ram attended a state level festival on the occasion of World Environment Day .
He said that tents, huts and trekker huts will be constructed to facilitate the tourists in area. Shattadhar along with Thatta, Jogipathar and Dahar Valley will be make area a tourist hub.
Jai Ram offered prayers at Shattanag temple along with his wife. He visited the place first time after becoming the Chief Minister of the state. About 10 thousands people were present at the temple situated at a height of 10000 feet on the occasion of first anniversary of the temple. Addressed the gathering Jai ram said that Seraj constituency will be developed as a model constituency and area will be developed according to the expectations of the people.
He also announced Rs 10 lakhs for the construction of boundary wall at Jogipathar, Rs 10 lakhs each for six rural roads, PHC at Thatta and Rs 10 lakhs for construction of Dev Sadan at Shattadhar. He also approved Shattadhar-Raingallu-Lambathach road to be upgraded as Major District road.
This ecotourism project will help to improve the economy of area. Local people will also get a source of self employment in the area. Ecotourism will be the solution to the sustainable tourism in the state as it will promote the tourism while conserving the ecology of the area.
